Animation Planning :
For my planning, I will be using my original images to see whether it fits together or not. Firstly, I will be using Aobe Flash CS4 to create my animation for the ‘Weather’.
In the beginning, I will be exporting all the four images and background image in the library and will be starting doing an animation for my background. I drag the background
image and make into animation version. First, I will be making an entrance like coming from the above and slowly coming down and the whole page will be the background image. Then, I will be dragging all the four different images of weather and make these also in an animation version. The 4 images of the weather will be coming from different sides like cloudy from above and windy from below will be coming from the right-hand side and sunny from above and rainy from below will be coming from the left-hand side as a large size. Then, all the large four photos of weather will be coming together in the middle part of the background image and slowly the large photos will be moving making the photos each time smaller and smaller until the photos will reach in the centre part of the background image. After doing the animation for my background image and four different weather images, I am planning to make my title ‘Weather’ using animation as spinning the ‘weather’ text and make it bigger to its medium size I want. After finishing this task, I will check whether the animation worked properly or not by going up the toolbar and will be clicking on ‘ Control’ and scrolling down to ‘Play’ or ‘Test Scene’ to see my animation for the weather.

Final Draft for Festival
Today, we planned to complete our whole web-page design for the festival. After completing our ‘homepage’, ‘images’ and ‘animation’ we still need to complete our ‘music’ page. We asked our personal tutor to help us out in completing our festival task.

Sixth Draft for Festival
Today, we are still continuing our animation for our web-page design. There were a lot of mistakes in our animation like some part of the images were not properly done and got mixed up with other images. We had a slight problem with the video and radio play because fort eh video we didn't have sufficient time to finish and as for radio play we have not complete the task so we decided to remove both the video and radio play from the web-page. For the 'Music' page we asked our IMedia tutor to put the music which is of 'batman theme' where we created for our music class. He showed us the steps to do like exporting the music and keep it in the web-page but due to some problem in downloading the batman theme from the Logic Pro 8 he told us that he will help us later.
Overall, we completed our ‘animation’ and ‘images’ pages in our web-page design for the festival except for the music part we still need help to complete our web-page design.

Fifth Draft for Festival
Today, we started doing animation for the remaining parts of the web-page design we created for the festival. It was really difficult to stimulate texts and animation together as we just started learning harder animation for our web-page design. We asked some help from our personal tutor who knows a lot about animation. It took 3-4 hours to do our animation for our web-page design. There were some problems in the computer system like music and videos not working in the the web-page design we created.

Fourth Draft for Festival
Today, we both started doing the web-page design for the festival in a computer. The web-page design we are creating it in Adobe Flash CS4. Firstly, we are trying to create our homepage for the festival. In the homepage, we decided to use the black background with a written text called introduction and make it in an animated way later. After finishing our homepage, we created our second page layering out the number of images and later we are planning to do animation on it. After doing the images we created our third page which the title is animation becaise we are keeping the 4 different tasks related to animation. For now we just layer them in texts and numbers in order into four sections and planned to do animation later. In the fourth page, we gave the title ‘Music, Radio Play and Video’ where we wiill be keeping different things relating to music, video and radio play in three different sections. Finally, we used this page as our final page using the text as ‘Thank You’ and later we are planning to do animation for it.

Third Draft for Festival
Today, we are carrying out the planning like making changes in ideas in planning and created four different rough boxes in an A4 sheet paper. In the first box, we made a homepage with a heading ‘Home’ and sub-heading ‘Introduction’. In second page, we decided to use images in different layers. In the third page, we decided to keep the title ‘Animation’ because we planned to keep some tasks related to animation. In the fourth box, we made two different category which are music, radio play and video.

We all were given given a tasks to carry out for the festival. The roles for our class are:-
My role for the festival is to promote a web-page design along with my friend, Falak. We are told to stimulate our own ideas and make sure to complete our task together.
Courtinie will be the director for the festival and take responsibility for the radio play that will be taking place in the festival.
Helen and Tanjiana will be taking responsibility in charge of the whole festival event. their duties is to make sure every students who are doing their individual tasks to be done in a proper way and see nothing goes wrong during the time of the festival.
Reece will be doing an advertisement for the festival so that more people will be attracted. His task is use different ideas like leaflets and posters to attract more people.

Creating a Web-page Design for the Festival
The materials we will need are :
-A4 sheet papers
-Pencil/Colour pens
-Adobe Flash CS4
-Internet (to see some examples of web-page designs)
-Colour Printer
-Blogger/Pages (written drafts for the web-page design we are going to create for the festival)
-Animations
-Images
-Music
-Memory stick
These are things we needed for creating our own web-page design for the festival. Firstly, we will be using A4 sheet paper and pencil to create and design our planning for the web-page. Then we will be using Adobe flash CS4 to start our designing for the web-page for the festival. We will be using animation, images and music in the web-page. After doing these task, we will be writing drafts for each day we created our web-page design in Pages and will be keeping it in the blogger later. After completing our web-page design for the festival we will be printing out our written drafts in the colour printer. As for our web-page design for the festival, we were reminded that the tutor will be taking our task from transferring to his memory stick.

After finishing up the festival research task, we were given a task to make our own festival. This task was a group work and were given a task for each two people to gather informations and ideas in making a festival. Me and my friend were given a task to make a web-page design for the festival.
For today, we decided to look up some examples of web-designs from different links in an internet. The web-page designs were quite done in a unique and crative way. The web-page designs from an internet were quite helpful normally giving us some hints to create our own web-page design for the festival.

Project Report-Artefact
Principle Learning - Unit 7 - Project Report
Exam period week beginning 10th May 2010
The subject of my project report will be the work from Unit 3 - Artefact.
(Describe what the brief for this was)
Introduction:
Unit 2 - Performance
Unit 3 - Atrefact
Unit 4 - Record
The brief for unit 3 Artefact is that the project report I am doing is the Cd cover survey. Particularly, Doing this task was to find people’s different views and opinions what they think about my Cd cover and how well I have made to make my Cd cover outstanding for the audience.
The most important part for this project report is to improve my research skills. In this project report the basic things I need to collect my research skills are to carry out a survey, communicating with people and doing interviews so that it will be a lot easier for me write the people’s stasitics to level up my confidence and able to write a proper report for my Cd cover survey.
Section A - Resources:
(Research)
First of all, while I was doing my first primary research I decided to make my own survey related to the Unit 3 Artefact where I decided to do a project report about Cd cover. I created 11 simple questionnaires to let people understand the questions while filling their answers and write what they think of my Cd cover. From there I distributed the survey to the classmates first and later decided to do give it to some people from outside college so that I could know what their views and opinions on my Cd cover survey is. Normally from my class out of eight students, five were female and three were male. Many of them were from 16-18 age group and few of them were of 19+.
Basically from outside college, I decided to do at the St. Pauls Cray Library where many people come to read and do their own work so I thought it was the best idea to give them to fill up my questionnaires. At that time many women were present than male so I gave to all the women who were present in there and told them it was my coursework so they all agreed to do. After collecting the surveys from them, I found out many of them were from 19+ age group.
In my second primary research, we given a task to interview Mr. Richard who was a teacher in our college. As part of the creative media project report the class interviewed Mr. Richard who introduced himself and started giving a speech about the Cd cover designs and other things like talking about pop singer Michael Jackson, downloading in ITUNES, listening to songs and watching videos in youtube and even talked more about other things. In the middle of the speech, we did answering the questions with Mr Richard and again he continued with his speech.
For my third primary research, I did a survey to find their different views and opinions regarding the the Unit Artefact where i chose to do the Cd cover. The questionnaire survey which subject tutor gave us a hint to create our own questionnaires. We all agree to do what the tutor told us and created the questionnaires. In first I made nearly 16 questions but made some changes and cut down some questionnaires to make a lot easier for the people to understand and answer the questions easily. The title for the survey was “Unit 7 : Project Report”. Basically, the sub-heading was “Artefact Cd Cover Survey” The questions were referring to the sub-heading containing the questions about the Cd cover from Unit Artefact . After making the survey I handed out the questionnaire to my classmates from my media and creative diploma class and and even some people from outside college to see their own views and opinions.
In this question 1, they were asked to tell their gender. Basically, this question is reliable because its necessary to know which gender is from.
In this question 2, they are asked to mention their age group so that I would know what kind of age group people would like or dislike about the Cd cover I made. Probably this question is simple and in fact reliable because the question itself shows that what kind of age group would prefer the style of Cd cover.
In this question 3, they were asked what kind of gender attracts the style of Cd cover. I think the question is good because I would know which kind of gender prefer the Cd cover.
I think this question 4, is quite necessary for the people who did my survey because they would write their own views and opinions when they first sight the Cd cover.
Likewise in question 5, its referring the people whether they have their likes and dislikes about the Cd cover. The question is also quite necessary because they would write their own views about the Cd cover whether they like some part and dislike other parts of the cover.
From question 6-10, the answers for all the questionnaires are to agree or disagree. In more basic way, the questions are practically good because they could say what they agree and disagree. In question 6, the question asked about whether they like the pictures or not. In question 7, its asked about the background image whether the images of the Cd cover fits with it or not. In question 8, its asked whether they would prefer the Cd cover attractive or bad. In question 9, they are asked to answer whether the back Cd cover and front Cd cover fits with each other or not and finally in question 10, its asked whether they would buy it or not if they pass through the store.
Lastly, the question 11 is just to comment and write their own views and opinions about the Cd cover.
Section B - Evaluation:
(Report)
In my first primary research, Mr Richard introduced himself and gave information about Cd cover designs, Michael Jackson, downloading and more other things.
Firstly, He talked about the rock band ‘Paramore’ Cd cover and music. He showed us the design of the cover and style of music. Later he showed and talked about the music video and the website for different artists and bands. He told us about the definition of record and how it works along with the credit. He talked about downloading legally in ITUNES means buying with money online because nowadays people prefers the free downloads from other sites which is not legal and not acceptable for the laws. He even told about the website ‘Youtube’ where people listen and watch videos. He spoke about the late king of pop ‘Michael Jackson’ from the music industry about his music and style he contributed to the world. He even talk about some directors, producer and singers who are gradually getting famous and the money they earn will be distributed within them. He told us that about how to download songs in MP3. After he gave his speech, he gave his introduction and his work in the past years as a teacher and after. He told us about his salary which is £28 per hour. After he gave his speech and introduction, he told us to research the band designs and art worked done by them and see the layout how they used, how big the log they have used and focus on how they do that. He reminded us that we should know what we are doing and thinking of getting new ideas in making the Cd cover. During the speech, we asked him some questions regarding the Cd cover designs and other things . His answers were quite reliable and didn’t hesitate to give us a good answers.
In my second primary research, the survey I gave to the people from outside college and the classmates from the class did what they were asked to do. it was really hard giving to people from outside because i felt very shy but they all accepted to do my surveys.
More formally, from inside the college the survey i gave them was quite varied due to their own views in some questions.
In question 1, Out of all people from inside and outside college 5 were female from the class and 16 female from outside. As for males 3 were male from inside but none of the male from outside. In regarding the answer, both from inside and outside majority of female than male were there to do the survey.
In question 2, out of 8 people 7 people were from 16-18 age group and 1 person was from 19+ which is from inside the college as for outside 12 people were 19+, 2 were from 16-18 age group and 2 were from 11-15 age group. The answer is quite in contrast because many people were from 19+ and 11-15 age group was quite few.
In question 3, From both inside and outside college majority people said ‘both’ because the Cd cover has the style which attracts both male and female. Some people from inside the college preferred ‘female’ due to girlish style of music and images in the Cd cover. I would say the answer is quite reliable as I also thought it was quite for both male and female aspects for my Cd cover.
In question 4, many people have gave their own views and opinions in this question like some said its unique and some said it has the gothic/rock style of music and some said they like the contrast between light and dark contrast. The answer was quite good and bad because the first impression they saw is quite edible and different. More formally, both from inside and outside referred in different views as the answers were normally same from both the sides of the people.
In question 5, the way the people wrote is quite interesting because the answers are completely different and what they likes and dislikes is quite good. Majority of people from both inside and outside college said they like the contrast between angel and devil, features and style. In dislike, majority of them said they didn’t like the darkish and scary concept which normally many people didn’t prefer in these days. So, I would agree to this answer because the word they describe for my Cd cover is quite true due to heavy style of my Cd cover.
In question 6, out of 8 people from inside the college 6 of them said ‘yes’ and 2 people said ‘no’. As for outside the college, out of 16 people 13 of them said yes and 3 people said ‘no’. In my opinion, the pictures may reflect some poeple as for other it would probably find it bad due to darkish concept used in the cd cover.
In question 7, out of 8 people from inside the college 5 of them said ‘yes’ and 3 people said ‘no’. As for outside the college, out of 16 people 13 of them said yes and 3 people said ‘no’. Regarding the answer, i think the answers are quite varied because majority referred the background fitting with the images in the cd ocver but few disagree due too musch of colours being used.
In question 8, out of 8 people from inside the college 4 of them said ‘good’ and 4 people said ‘average’. As for outside the college, out of 16 people 10 of them said ‘good’ and 6 people said ‘average’. In my own views, I think the answer is varied due to many of them said ‘good’ but in some cases many said ‘average’ because the answer in agreeing and disagreeing which is quite interesting for me as its their own choice in answering what they think about the cd cover.
In question 9, out of 8 people from inside the college 7 of them said ‘yes’ and 1 person said ‘no’. As for outside the college, out of 16 people 7 of them said ‘yes’, 8 people said ‘maybe’ and 1 person said ‘no’. This question is quite necessary because the front and back Cd cover is quite different due to different images and and in my opinion the answers are quite true.
In question 10, Majority of them said ‘no’ from inside and outside college because many of them suggested the style and theme of my Cd cover was not quite their style of music they want due to its look it had the feeling of dark and hard rock style of music than R‘N’B/HIPHOP style of music genre which nowadays many people listen to that kind of music songs.
Lastly, I think the last question is quite different and basically I want people to write what they want to say in their own views and opinions for my Cd cover. Basically, many commented that liked it but in some cases people didn’t like the design and features of the cover due to images and fonts used are like the rock music and completely have mystery and emotional concept. In regarding the answer, i think its true because i would probably say the Cd cover has emotional and sad songs but in heavy and rock genre style of music.
(Evaluation)
Doing this project report, the most difficult part was the research and report because in research the difficult part was to give survey to people from outside the college which I didn’t like the idea at all but it was a coursework so I have to find people a lot as for report we have to write a lot of information regarding the question surveys done by the people from inside the college and outside the college. The other thing I was not able to do a proper report is that I was not present in the interview but got some information from my classmate so that i could write for my primary research in both the section A and section B.
OveralI, I would say my project report is average. If I were to prepare a new one I would like to make my planner for my project report in a specific and understandable way so it would be easier for me to write my report and fully prepare my answers in a good way.

Reliability of My Research
Secondary Sources:
For my secondary sources, I researched the information by using an internet. Firstly, I research on range of music jobs in an internet normally on www.wikipedia.co.uk site to find some information because many people rely on this site due to having definitions on a hyperlink therefore some of the meanings for the words was quite hard to understand so I just wrote the name of the career and click on it and there the different sites were shown in the screen. I randomly chose some of the sites and used some details about the careers.

Planning for my survey
For my first task for the project report, i have finished my question survey of my class. Now, I will be distributing to different age groups of people from my college or to my family members and friends. For this second task I needed to find 20 people to answer my question survey of my Cd cover. I am planning to ask more on girls than boys to fill up the answers for my project report.

FOUR Initial designs on campaign
Out of all the campaigns, I decided to do the Anti-smoking campaign.
I did this because I think many people of the age group from 16 years and above starts smoking and terrorizing their health a lot. I would describe smoking cigarettes have dfifferent reasons like stress, fashion, forced, intersts and more. From the above sentences the most distracting thing would be fashion becasue nowadays when young people see their parents or friends smoking they take interest just like that to showoff in front of many people that they are growing older and can understand thier position in smoking cigarettes. In some cases like in music or fashion industry the models and sinmgers also do photoshoots and mainly music videos where the the main person smoke due to tragic and some caes like happiness just to show their concepts for their music style which also gets the centre attention the young people who thinks smoking cigarettes are like getting in a fashion sense and showoff to other people which i find it definately wrong because they should undestand the present health which could cause serious problems in the future.
Planning for my campaign Poster:-
(No. 1)
The title of my campaign poster is 'Smoking is Killing Me'. I chose this name to fit the concept of my poster for an anti-smoking campaign. In my poster, the ‘Heart’ with black colour spreading out in it describes the human’s important part of the body which is also the target for the people who smokes a lot and eventually may affect their health by getting diseases like heart diseases. As for the ‘Cigarette’ piercing a human heart to show that people will be effectively affect their heart if they smoke a lot. Likewise for the ‘Smoke’ shows that smoking could lead like a flowing river which our inner parts of the body could be destroyed and make our health look bad.
As for the ‘Red bubbles’ which is actually blood tells us that if too much of blood is wasted from our body, it may lead to loss of our body. I even used ‘Text’ to write my title and a website with red colours to stand out to my target audience. The main thing why I mention the website in my poster is to let people visit my website and find how it is and know more about anti-smoking campaigns as many young people are starting to smoke in their young age which includes adults too. The fonts and colours are used for the title and the website is done in a simple and focused in an attractive way. Overall, this campaign’s target audience would be every age groups but I wanted to mention it from 16 years and above because many young people are smoking a lot and destroying their body health.
(No.2)
The title of this campaign is "Say 'NO' or Life Will Be Breathless". I chose this camapign name because the image shows us that smoking can lead to lot of pollution in air like smoky factories, vehicles and lots more which causes air pollution. The target audience could be for everyone as the image is not quite proper in understanding what it means but has a litlle meaning saying 'NO' to soking which is the only easiest part where many peope, would understand it. The cigarette with black cross definately shows not to involve in smoking and immediately day 'no' to anyone who insists you to smoke. As, for the title means people should be aware of other people who smokes and insists you to join you in smoking which the answer should be 'no' tot that person or could to dangerous diseases like heart problems and mouth infection.
(No.3)
The title for this campaign is "Just say 'NO'". The title I chose for this was due to the images which is was quite simple made showing a smoke coming out from the cigarette laying side in the ashtray which definately fits with the title due to its simple images. this campaign would be probably for the young people from 16 to 21 year age group because I just to want to let many young teenagers from these age groups to understand the value of health and their life for the future. The image of a smoke of the cigarette floating around shows that the if the person smokes it will be hard to reduce the smoke inside their body and it will spread around their blood veins, heart and every part of the body which could cause a fatal pain in your health and loss of your weight due to too much of smoking everyday and even spread out to other people around you. The ashtray was just given a small hint to make the cigarette laid in the side of the ashtray to make a final touch.
Overall, if I would be seeing this campaign somewhere in posters or an internet, I would not look at it as much in interest due to lack of colours and simple fonts used on it. In this campaign if I was given to change and use digital images I would try to use more colours and good fonts to fit the image of the campaign. If I would say it in my opinions about this anti-smoking campaign I made I definately didn't like it as musch as other three campaigns due to lack of background, simple images which didn't directly attracts the target audience what this campaign really means.
(No.4)
The title of this campaign is 'Smoke Will Kill Me'. The target audience for this campaign would be from age group 16 years and above. I chose the name of this title becasue according to the images I decided to use this aimple title which sounds good for this campaign and really fits with the images. The images shown in this campaign tells us that smoking is llke a gun. The cigarette is shown like a gun with 'bang!' sound to let young people know that if you shoot with a gun you will get pain in your body just like that if you smoke cigarettes you will Sstart to destroy your health from young age and will get a lot of pain in your body in your upcoming future. Out of all the three campaigns this is the one I like the most because the image with a gun style cigarette with bang bang sounds looks different and good and even the the writing font is simple with yello and green colours just to look attractive for the people to see.

Unit-PROJECT
INTRODUCTION
Particularly, I find music industry quite competitive and challenging place for the young generation for doing different careers in it. There are many opportunities to take part as a music career in music industry like in TV commercial, singer, DJ, dancer and lots more. It depends on which kind of talent you have and what you will be available to do in front many viewers. Basically in this generation young people are more eager to work in music industry like in theaters, TV, recording studios etc which is more interesting to see young people showing their talent and their inner confidence to the people over the world.
I am doing a project on my two different careers relating to music industry. This project is about their skills, qualifications and experience needed for the person who is doing a career as a music promoter and a record producer. For the project, I am going to find the answer to my question in choosing this two music careers. “Why did you choose music promoter and a record producer as your upcoming options for working in the music industry ?” In the beginning part of the course I did these careers just to complete my work but later I thought there are always reasons to do the things. While I was doing further researching information on these two jobs related to music industry, I got really interested. In my view, these two jobs are quite competitive in the music industry as they are one of the basic things for a person to promote music to other people and expand the music genres and style to different countries or within the country.
The most reflective part for this project is to improve my research skills. Knowing how to communicate with people, carry out a survey, going to a library and researching on it could be a great experience for me to be interested and able to find skills and confidence which could lead me to find work or whether I end up working in these two particular jobs in the music industry in the future.
The main purpose in experiencing different jobs in the music industry could be like understanding the values and improving it. Researching these two jobs normally I need to do a lot of finding the information on both of the careers normally about its qualifications, experience and skills needed which could have more details in pursuing to get a job in the music industry.
RESEARCH
In my secondary sources, I prepared my research from an internet. When I was researching the background details I needed it was quite important for me to choose good sources and links to gather reliable information so that others who are reading want find it fake and wrong.
I used www.wikipedia.co.uk site which I found that many people count on this website because there are lot of definitions and links but in some cases the meanings and words are difficult to understand and some of the details are fake so I prefer to check some of the sources whether it is correct or not. I even used the dictionary.reference.com site to find the meanings of the difficult words so that I could understand what it means. While finding different careers of the music industry I found another site www.wisegeek.com site which I find it quite intersting because I have never seen this site and it was quite useful for working out of my difficulties. I think ‘wisegeek’ site is quite understable than ‘wikipedia’ because this website helped me to gather more information on different careers of the music industry with its roles and skills and the words and meanings were quite easy to understand than wikipedia where there are lot of information but difficult meanings. I even used www.answers.com to find simple question like the qualification and salary amount for these particular jobs in the music industry. When I didn’t find the reliable answer for the salary information in the www.answers.com I found this www.collegecrunch.com website where I could find the good source of the two chosen music jobs and normally I am using is the college resource online site where you find many colleges details and jobs which is quite helpful for the people who want to find the resouces about the colleges and jobs they want.
For my primary research, I did a survey to find their different views and opinions regarding the careers from the music industry. The questionnaire survey done by the subject tutor gave us a hint to create our own questionnaires. We all chose to same like the tutor’s but made some changes in questionnaires to make alot easier for the people to understand and answer the questions. The title for the survey was “Questionnaries on careers in the music industry”. Basically, the sub-heading was “What are the skills, qualifications and experience neccessary to create a successful career in music teaching and/or performing in a group?” The questions were related to the sub-heading containing the questions about skills, qualification and experience whether/if they were interested to work in the music industry or not. After making the survey I handed out the questionnaire to my classmates from my media and creative diploma class and a helping resources tutor.
Here are the survey questions with people’s views and opinions:
In this question 1, everyone I gave my survey to told me that they don’t work in the music industry. As I gave my questionnaire to just students this is not a reliable question for them.
In this question 2, I gave 5 options which are: songwriter, singer, record producer, other and none. This is a good question because there are different options to choose and give their own views.
In this question 3, they were asked to say which skills were necessary ‘an ear for music’, singing talent or writing skills. This means whether they need to have talent for singing or just hearing the music or have writing skills needed for both the careers. I think this question is useful because most of the people asked are interested in music and listen to different types of artists.
In this question 4, I gave 4 options which are: GCSEs, Diploma or GNVQ, Degree in music and No qualifications necessary. I would say this is a practical question as its not quite good because the answer for this question is not known by many people and probably guessed it in their own views.
Regarding the question 5, everyone suggested that its very important for a music promoter or record producer to have an experience in the music industry. I would say this question is practically good because they know that without having an experience none would would be able to get in the industry. They suggested that more experience the more the person will get a job which could lead to have better reputation even they have a life with difficulties in their path in the big music industry.
REPORT
“Why did you choose music promoter and a record producer as your upcoming options for working in the music industry ?”
In my primary research, I did a question survey where I asked people if they are interested in doing a job in the music industry or not.
Basically, out of the five people asked, two of them chose songwriter, two of them chose singer and other(A&R) respectively and none were done by one person. As for record producer none chose this career. Basically, the majority of them chose songwriters than other job careers of the music industry.
In regards of the other people’s opinions the skills used by the singers or songwriters’ views were varied. The majority of them said singing talent and writing skills were neccessary to be a singer or songwriter.
When I looked at some of the question surveys of other people I found it really interesting because many of them suggested that in the music industry there are no qualifications required, as work experience or training in the industry is really important. The survey also suggested that getting more experience could lead to higher ranks in the music industry and I particularly agree with their answers.
In my opinion, I would say agree in their answers because the way each of them told about how its important and wrote their own views about the people how they work in the music industry.
In my secondary sources basically, I did a lot of researching in an internet to find the details about different careers in the music industry from different sites. It was difficult to find its basic things ] like skills, qualifications, salary and its role for each of the particular jobs of the industry.
I looked up in an internet where different kinds of jobs were involved. Out of range of jobs in the Music Technology Industry I chose Record Producer and Music Promoters.
Record Producer
Normlly for my internet research, I found that Record producer is one of the most important person in the music industry. It describes a record producer as one of the music industry professional who works with artists to produce records much like film producers, record producers plays a role in shaping the artistic direction of the projects they work on, and even also controls the quality and generating a project which may be successful. Producers are a very important part of the team which gets an album from the minds of the musicians to the shelves of retail stores.
Record producer's roles are:-
-plays a key role in recording sessions, controlling the schedule and working with the sound engineer to get the desired sound,
-Gathering and directing the ideas of the project,
-Getting into the songwriting process and learning about songwriting and sequencing,
-Being able to work with musicians and artist and get the best out of them,
-Working with a recording engineer and other studio owners,
-Using sound effects, samples and other techniques to make song sound different and unique,
-Mixing and editing the song, and finally
-Mastering the song.
Being a record producer can vary, depending on the type of music being recorded and the preference of the musicians' style of music. Record producers from a hip hop labels are often quite famous than the musicians they work with, and can make or break the success. In contrast the record producers working with classical musicians often have less involved artistically which only may focused on getting a good, clean recording. Basically, in this present generation many record producers are involved in being as a songwriter, a musician and recording engineering.
Salary Information:
While researching about the salary information I found out that the normal salary of a record producer range from over $30,000 up to more than $50,000 on a yearly basis which I find it quite alot but basically it depends on the sales of the music.
Qualifications:
More often the people who are interested in becoming a record producer in a music industry don’t have an entry qualification as its not quite needed but instead look for skills. As, i looked up in an internet most record producers have certificates in any of the following like in songwriting, composition, music production, sound engineering, musical history and theory, etc. People who often plan to be record producers may have to spend most of their time focusing on their piano skills as they say ‘instrument is usually the main composition tool of songwriters and producers’. Nowadays, record producers need to have skills on digital technology in producing music as you all know today’s generation has become quite dependent on computer software.
Having this job could be easier for the people who have dreams to be a record producer but there are times in struggling with singers and bands who insists to give ideas for their Cd album. Record producers should understand what they need in their songs and styles for the concept for the music.
Do you want to get involve in working in the music industry?
If you agree.....it will be your great opportunity to enter and will be able get training, audition and get many options for you to part of it.
Music Promoter
For my internet research, music promoter is also one of the most important job in the music industry because the person or a group of peole who works as a music promoters focus in marketing and promoting concerts, live events and manages publicity and advertising the music in the country and outside the different countries in the world. They are normally invloved as a business person in the music industry to work out the financial problems occuring in the industry and settling matters for the musicians' concerts and events.
Promoters have a good feedback about them because they are the one to create the advertising and making a publicity for the new musicians to attract many people of the world. Nowadays, most of the promoters are helding as plastering posters on outdoor walls, flyposting, and distributing handbills on windows of cars parked in entertainment district. At present, many promoters have started doing online technology such as online social networks and event listing sites to handle publicity, invitations, mailing lists, and so on. Recently, many promoters are one of the leaders in SMS text message advertising to their own lists. Music promoters often build their own personalities and the parties they host, marketing the events under a consistent name, style, type of program, and social experience to brand out an artist successfully.
Working as a music promoter for a record company or solo artist, the main objectives are:
-writing press releases to publicise your client's music or tour.
-organising publicity events such as media interviews and personal appearances.
-going to publicity events with clients.
-getting airtime on radio and TV shows.
-networking with contacts in the music industry.
-organising tours.
-dealing with designers, printers and marketing staff.
-negotiating contracts.
-listening to new acts and deciding whether to offer them a contract.
-work as a promoter for a live music venue.
Salary Information:
According to my research, the salary of a music promoter range from over £35000 - £45000/annum plus bonus which depends on its sales and expanding of the music of a singer or a band. The salary is really good for being a music promoter in the music industry.
Qualification:
Basically, the qualifications are not importantl in the music industry but some people do have relevant foundation degrees, BTEC HNDs and degrees to get this job to enter the music industry. There is no set career path into working as a music promoter as the main key to get this job is have experience and develop a connection in the industry. Having this job is to establish your own experience like taking interest and taking responsibility in sales and marketing, public relations, event organisation or advertising. So, it is really important and need to have experience for working as a music promter. Getting more experience as a music promoter,he/she could take a course in music industry management to be more confidence but there is no guarantee to get a job as it is usually according to how much they can handle the job and take responsible for all the things.
CONCLUSION/EVALUATION
Doing this project work, it was really difficult to research and jot down its basic things about the two careers of the music industry. The ideas were normally from an internet which had so many things about these particular jobs of the music industry. At first, I didn’t had any idea what to write about these music careers but due to the help of an internet I found many informations about it. While doing researching of different careers in the music industry I found five to six careers and gave short information for each of thees music careers I found. Then, out of all I chose my best two careers which are record producer and music promoter. The decision I made to give full informations about these two jobs was that I felt it was quite interesting and furtherall, both were one of the busiest and important careers in the music industry.
Basically, when I was doing secondary research on both of these two careers the most confusing part was the qualifications because many of the other jobs from different industry request for the qualifications and only were given to do the job but in the music industry it is not essential but instead skills and experience were more important if not they are given training and job experience. But some people who want to work as a record producer or music promoter study getting degrees to enter the music industry as basically its easier for them to know about the job they want because they have experienced a lot and have more practical skills.
The thing I didn’t like about my project is doing a research which was quite hard because I could not remember few websites and links I found for these two music careers and I didn’t do researching in books which is quite helpful if you do so. If I have to change or fully prepared a new one I would like to normally write some of the important websites and hyperlinks for research beforehand and prepared a final draft for it and even read some books related to music where I could find different jobs and important details about it for my project.
Overall, I would say my project is fine and would grade satisfactory just to say its not quite understable in some cases but I feel its average for the readers.
